Q: What is Edible Icing?
A: Edible icing is a thin sheet of icing that looks a bit like a thick piece of paper, it comes on a backing sheet.
Q: I want to check that the Icing will look OK before it is printed, do you send a proof?
A: Yes, Icing4u will send a low resolution proof to your email account before printing. The proof is usually sent as a jpeg image.
Q: How hard is the icing to apply to the cake?
A: It is very easy to apply the icing to the cake. The icing is peeled off the backing paper and placed middle first on a freshly iced cake and smoothed out to remove any air bubbles.
Q: Is the ink safe to eat?
A: Yes, the ink is safe. It is food grade food colouring.
Q: How big should my picture be?
A: Resolution higher than 300 dpi (or dimensions of 1024x768) are best, some improvements to lower quality images can be made to improve the quality of the image. will let you know if the image you have supplied is not suitable.
Q: Can I get an image off the internet?
A: Yes you can, but you are responsible for any copyright. Icing4u does not accept any responsibility for copyright infringements.
Q: How long does it take to get an icing printed?
A: If you are local to Dunedin (NZ) three days notice is all that is needed. If you live outside Dunedin at least one to two weeks is best. The more notice the better.
Q: Can I get a message printed on my icing?
A: Yes, just let us know what you want when you place an order. You can also choose a font and font colour. If you font is unusual we may ask that you email to font to us to use.
Q: I have a square cake can I still get icing to fit?
A: Yes, just let us know when you place the order and we will print the icing as a square, you just cut the blank section with scissors or a craft knife before placing on cake.
Q: Are there any allergens in the icing sheet?
A: There are no known allergens in the icing.
Q: What ingredients are the icing sheets made of?
A: Ingredient list: Water, Corn Starch, Corn Syrup, Cellulose, Corn Syrup Solids,
Vegetable Oil, Gum Arabic, Fructose, Sugar, Modified Starch, Glycerine,
Polysorbate, Vanilla Artificial Colour and Citric Acid. Plus when printed food safe food colouring.
